Eco Heating for Housing Associations

Many properties owned or managed by Housing Associations are burdened with Storage Heaters that are coming to the end of their working life. Generally there is no Gas supply to these properties and Oil is not an option. The Central Heating System supplied by Eco Heating is a straight forward replacement for storage heaters, utilising the existing wiring. There are two main ways that we would recommend controlling the central heating in this environment.

  1. The Classic pilot wire Programmer operates in a similar way to a normal wet central heating programmer, Coming on  and off at set times and keeping the rooms at the temperature set on each individual radiator. It has a two zone facility enabling bedrooms and living rooms to be controlled separately. This option does require some additional cabling from each radiator to the Programmer
  2. Each individual radiator can have a conventional timer switch that enables the tenant to set each radiator at different times and the temperature is controlled by the temperature setting on the radiator. This method requires no additional wiring and is very suitable for the older or infirm tenant as the controller can be set at the same height as the top of the radiator making is simple to use. Also if the tenant feels cold in one particular room it is simple to just turn the radiator up to increase the room temperature. This is also the most cost effective way of replacing storage heaters as disruption is  minimal and there is no additional wiring thus reducing the overall cost of the installation.

There can be up to a 50% reduction in heating costs for the tenant if storage heaters are replaced with the Eco Heating Solution.
